Glowbug Phosphors are pigments that absorb and store UV light energy, which is then re-emitted over a given period of time when the light source is removed. Often called ‘glow in the dark’ pigments, these products are generally used in paints, inks and plastics for safety, security and novelty applications.
There are a number of Glowbug Phosphors to choose from, which are generally characterised by length of afterglow and/or body/emission colour. More information can be found by selecting the following:
> 'Natural' H series
> Coloured S series
Being inorganic and crystalline in nature, Glowbug Phosphors are highly stable in most paint and ink formulations, and have excellent heat resistance properties in plastics. However, they should not be milled or ground and care should be taken with certain ranges when used in plastic extrusion/moulding equipment.
